So I'm a regular here. The only issue here is consistency. We love the toum and that comes with the Pitas. Most of the time it's great. Sometimes it's pure Garlic and not editable. So much garlic it's spicy. The chicken kabob is my favorite dish. Sometimes it's so Juicy and great. Other times not so much. Even portions vary. The hummus is outstanding. Never had an issue with that. Service is amazing at times. Other times you spend your meal looking around for your waiter with no refill. At the end still 4 stars because when it's good it's amazing. And that happens more often than not.

This place is GOOD! Everything I've tried here has been great and I'm a little afraid of Mediterranean cuisine. The hummus is better than Opa.

Really good. The place looks so nice, the waiters r great and the food awesome. Lovely place to run into by accident today. :)

Absolutely love this place. The owner Faris is super cool and came up to us and bought us a round of drinks and took really good care of us. It is by far one of my fav places to eat. We ordered everything on the menu as we had a huge group and all the appetizers were amazing and all the food was delicious. The chicken kabob was my favorite and I highly recommend that you try appetizer sampler. Come hungry and leave happy !

This place is fairly new. They have a lot to work on. Yet, I go back over and over again. In my opinion the Gyros are good. Their hummus is good. . However they have no clue what to do with fish on a grill. Sadly they turned my friends Salmon into charcoal. Stay away from any of their chicken dishes unless you like to eat dried out bricks. Your best bet is the Shrimp Santorini.

Great place to eat. Went with my wife on a Saturday night, had to wait, packed. Live belly dancing, great food. Very loud. Overall it was a good experience.

I happen to disagree with the other reviews. It is a very good cute little restaurant that you can go eat at night for dinner or have it to go for lunch. The hummus and pita was sooo good, i had the chicken scharwma pit with garlic toom sauce, yum! The toubbeleh was delicious and basmati rice also. Everything was good and in my opinion this is a great little spot to try if your in the mood for greek or meditteranean.

We go to Mazza once or twice a month. By now we have tried almost everything, food is outstanding. I recommend the grilled octopus. Some nights the service does not measure up to the food. To make sure your evening goes well ask for Daniel as your services.

I have driven past this place countless times so I figured I would give it a try for lunch. The food was nothing to rave about. The plating was not overly appealing and the flavor was average. The chicken that was served on a salad was dry and lacking flavor. Lunch was rather costly for three people with no alcoholic beverages. I noted on their website that they have a lunch menu, however this is not available on weekends. For the price the portion sizes were not impressive. Overall, I will probably drive past them often, and not come back.

Just not what I expected for the price I paid. Wanted Greek food and didn't feel like driving to my normal restaurant. Ordered gyro platter and Greek salad, wow was I not happy with the FEW pieces of salad greens and the pitas were cut in slices and not fresh. No wonder they made me pay when I placed the order instead of when it came out, had I opened it and looked at it would have never taken it home.

Assuming that staff was overwhelmed tonight. Embarrassed that my foodservice customer from Aruba and family had to wait over an hr for food that was over cooked and cold. Icing on the cake: food came out sporadic with kids meals last (after asking) and being told our lemon potatoes were sold out. (Publix is across the street ) I had talked this place up based on past experiences . wonder what happened. ..... OMG, just tried my kids pasta. Had to spit out in the bathroom. Unreal.

Horrible service. Waited twenty minutes just for water. Management seems to think that three inexperienced wait staff could handle twenty tables. Food isn't bad but service kills it.

I've only been here once, but I highly enjoyed the meal my gf and I had for lunch. We started our meal off with their Dip Trio (hummus, baba ghanuj and labneh) which was served with pita chips. The hummus was basic yet tasty, the baba ghanuj was a bit tart, and the labneh was very refreshing; all paired nicely with the pita chips. For our meals we ordered their Greek Gyro and Beef Shawarma. The spices did their job well because all of the meat was delicious and very tender. We ended our meal by having a piece of the Baklava and we loved it. This is definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make it a destination meal.

Another go-to spot for lunch with the group at work. It's located conveniently in a shopping center with lots of parking and is quick without compromising quantity and flavor! They welcome the table with pita and a delicious garlicky butter spread - I love a place that serves a free app. I always go with the chicken shawarma. The platter comes with rice and hummus which makes it a pretty fulfilling meal. The chicken is seasoned well and goes great with the hummus. Two of my coworkers shared the whole fried fish which looked amazing - I will definitely be back to try that! All in all, a great lunch spot!

I really have no complaints. Stopped here for lunch unexpectedly and was surprised by how fast, friendly, and good everything was. The toum was amazing, the hummus as good as any I've ever had, and my gyro wasn't dropping in grease. Will definitely make the half hour drive out here now that I know this place exists.

Seriously love this place! The pita bread and lemony-garlic butter they put out is amazing. Love the tabbouleh salad and any of there kabobs! Service is great, food comes out really quick. Great spot !

I don't say this often but everything here is delicious. The falafel is perfect, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It goes perfect with the hummus. For about $10 you get pita bread and garlic butter as you wait for your food and my favorite dish, the filet mignon kabob. It comes with basmati rice and hummus. Where else do you get a filet mignon at that price, that is as tasty as this? No where. I highly recommend this place.

Yep! This place is a gem! I'd worked a long day and cooking wasn't even an option. I've eyeballed this place many times while in the plaza going to Publix or the bank. I packed up the family and headed over. We arrived super early because number one, I was hungry and number two, I wasn't in the mood for the Pembroke Pines dinner crowd. The place was nice and empty so we copped one of the booth tables with the curtains and pillow. The decor was nice. You know one of those places that you kinda just know the food's gonna be decent? Our waiter was polite. We already knew what we wanted since I looked at the menu on my phone earlier. We both opted for the Fish Kabobs which was served with Basmati rice and hummus and served over grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes. I also ordered a side of Lemon Potatoes. As an appetizer, we had calamari. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Nothing was overly salty or overly spicy. I wouldn't have been mad if there was a little pepper though. My husband doesn't like trying new things so it's up to me to take him out of his comfort zone. I had been to many Mediterranean restaurants as well as Greek but he's a lot different when it comes to trying food. He LOVED his fish kabobs. The fish was meaty and very tender. Not fishy at all. Nicely grilled and nicely seasoned. My daughter had chicken kabobs and she did what most kids did and ate all the chicken and left everything else. Pretty much, we loved it all from the garlic dip to the appetizer, to our meals. I am definitely going back to try something else and I can't wait.

Great spot for lunch (haven't had dinner here). I usually have the chicken kabobs or beef shwarma and love it.. The complimentary garlic butter on pita is soooo good... Great lunch for under $10... I definitely recommend lunch here!

A friend recently drove her and I to Mazza after a day of boutique shopping. And glad she did! First off, the place is nicely decorated with an open feel to it, and the booths have pillows and curtains giving it that Mediterranean vibe. You can see in the food pickup window to see where they carve the gyro meat. They start you with complimentary pita bread and a garlic spread which couldn't be more addicting. My friend got the beef shwarma and I got the chicken. It comes with a side of rice, hummus and a lot of chicken, I had to take half home. The hummus is just delightful, so fresh. The chicken was chopped up with good flavor without being too oily. Basmati rice is blandish , just how I like it since I'm using the hummus with every bite. Also the bread pudding is phenomenal. Give it a try when you want something other than the ordinary American fare.

I love getting lunch here! Not only is the quality of the food excellent, with delicious items like filet mignon kebabs and falafel, but the prices are very reasonable. (The above, plus bottomless pita and fresh, house-made garlic butter spread, costs just over $15!) The service is sometimes a bit slow, but for the taste and price, this is one of my favorite options for lunch. Note: vegetarian friendly!

Really good clean Greek restaurant! Good portion sizes too. Lamb kabob didn't come on a stick. Like kabobs normally do but no fret! It was still really good. Great place to get some Greek food

This place was a solid "meh". We went on a Saturday evening. I was really excited to eat here because I love Mediterranean food. I hate to say this, but our server sucked. I think we saw her a total of 2, maybe 3 times. We got beers to start with, and then they sat empty for awhile until our food came. She never offered to get more. By that time, I just wanted some water, which I asked for. She finally brought me water at the same time she brought the check. Seriously. The place is pretty cute, and comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The music got really loud when the belly dancer was performing, but I guess that it to be expected. So, the most important part: the food. I'm sad to say that it was not that great. The shrimp was overcooked. The veggies were ok, but not much of a variety. Also, the portions seemed small for the price. Since this place was a bit out of the way for us, we will not be back.

This restaurant is a good option for a balanced meal that is both flavorful and healthy. With lots of grilled options, you can have a great meal with some spinach, hummus, and basmati rice on the side. I had the grilled eggplant ($13) for dinner and that was well executed. Not too oily, it had a great combination of crisp and cream. Olive oil that could be found in small pools along the plate supplied for an extra dose of flavor. We also ordered the lamb ($22) and the portion is that of a reasonable individual, I actually disagreed with my fellow diner, finding the price appropriate. That being said, the taste was exactly right for any lamb lover. A nice juicy bite to sink your meat into. I do recommend for medium rare, of course. The potatoes were that famous lemony Greek flavor. Delicious. Oh. I should mention we had the stuffed grape leaves as well. Not bad, but not fabulous. So that's a personal decision you're going to have to make. Lastly, the Ashta for dessert. It sounded ambitious...phyllo dough, crushed up pistachio, rose syrup, and a organe blossom custard...served hot. Pretty good. I thought it needed more syrup to achieve that rich status of exotic cuisine, but perhaps I am being biased and thinking of those fried Indian milk balls that are soaked in such syrup. The custard was very subtle. All in all, a good experience. The pita bread in the beginning is a welcomed start as well.

The first time we visit Mazza we loved food, and service was ok ( it was a Thursday). We went yesterday again, what a disappointment They were not even busy and running like a chicken without head!!!! Just because a big party ( like 14 ) was helped, then no hostess I have to call one of the servers and tell him i was not part of the party. Now the food, Musaka was awful, not even edible i huge difference with the one we order in a previous visit when we told the server, they just apologize A thats it!!!! I did not have intention to spoil my Sunday, i just pay my whole even with an 20% tip Because i believe the responsibility is in the management no in the server I will never cone back there!!!!! To bad!!!!!

I love this spot, the food is delicious and the price is right! The only thing I don't like is the lack of waiters... Don't expect to have one more glass of what you're drinking because no one will bring you more water or soda. There must've been a change in ownership since we first started coming here. Although do go on Friday nights, they have a belly dancer dance around the restaurant .

Had lunch here today for the first time and it was delicious! Several coworkers had spoken highly of the place but in terms of greek this place is more delicious than John Stamos. In all seriousness, the Pita with Garlic is amazing. I had the Chicken Kabob platter and it was hard to not lick the plate - everything was delicious - I asked for a side of Tzatziki sauce that was also very good. I'll be back here again and again.

This use to be a pretty good restaurant. Dont know what happend but it has definately gone down hill. Its a shame because it is definately since there isnt any Mediterranean restaurants all that close. Walked in today we were handed to menus and told to sit anywhere by the host/waiter/busser/ food expediter. Im assuming he is the owner and he had a cook in the kitchen. He was waiting on 9 tables. Needless to say it took a bit to get to us for our order but not like I grew any new grey hair waiting. The lunch menu is very limited to gyros shawarma & shish kabobs. My wife ordered the gyro and I had the gyro platter. Food got to us pretty quick. Gyro meat platter and the gyro both came with balsamati rice, humus, chopped tomatoes and taziki sauce. Meal was decent at best. It may have been an off day but I hope they get it together because this was a really good restaurant in the past.

2 stars because of the good food, but their service was awful. It would be Better to take out. First we waited close to 30 minutes and saw a whole bunch of empty tables, fine. Then were asked to order drinks, not even greeted by the waiter. We asked a question about their sangria, the guy went Mia and sent us someone else. Fine, we ordered the sangria, and ordered an appetizer along with the food. While we waited, bread was served to everybody else, but us. We had to ask the first person we saw, the bus girl, and she requested it for us. Secondly, we got our food served, oh wait, they forgot the appetizer!!! How dare they? It was explained to us it was gone after we were done with our food. They are very unorganized. . They don't approach their guests to make sure things are fine. I just won't be coming back to dine in. Dine out would be the best.

We really wanted this restaurant to be a great place for Mediterranean food but it's just ok. It has the potential to be a great place but these things would have to change: 1. Service is spotty - the servers seem friendly but they don't visit the tables often enough. During our recent visit, we ordered appetizers while we looked at the entrée choices on the menu. We stacked the menus at the edge of the table, but the server didn't come back to take our order until a few minutes after the appetizers were served. 2. The cooks are heavy-handed with a salty seasoning mix. We tried this restaurant twice - once during the weekend and once during the week - to be sure it wasn't a particular cook - but each cook overloads the proteins with the spice blend. I eat raw habanero peppers so I'm unafraid of spice but this salty blend of seasoning just overtook the taste of the grilled chicken, fillet, kafta, rib eye, and Chilean sea bass that we ordered over the course of our 2 visits. During our recent visit, a man who likely was the owner or manager came to our table and asked "how are you?" to which I said "fine, how are you?" and he said "good" and walked away. I guess he doesn't want to ask how the food is for fear someone would tell him! The hummus is coarse ground and flavorful. The falafel, while over-fried to a hard shell, had a great taste. The rice was overcooked both times we ate there (How is that possible? Even home cooks know how to make rice!)The décor is attractive. The restaurant could be a gold mine if they tighten up the service and lay off of over-seasoning the food. (And maybe they could close the office door next to the restrooms so guests don't see the computer screen and other proprietary information available for any prying eyes.) This may seem picayune but, considering the prices, good food and service should not be beyond expectation.

Food was good, was a Friday night at 840 pm service was lacking because they were slammed, good valué and the belly dancing Is a natural ambience onto itself, the waitservice did not seem to coordinate which was disappointing, however the Staff were very warm and humble...Will return

First time at this resturant. Found it just by Googling best resturants near Pembroke Pines. The service was so good I would go here over Opa just for that reason alone. The cheese appitizer and toom were amazing!! Could have just eaten this over meal. The meal combo was ok. They charged an extra $2.00 for steak (even though not mentioned and they dont give alot of it. I enjoyed it but wish they would give a side greek salad instead. We would definitely go back!!

I was so pleasantly surprised with Mazza. This is a great place to try exotic food. Nice environment. Clean and quiet. Really nice service. The food was so delicious. They provide pita with toum sauce (basically mashed garlic with lemon juice and and olive oil)--healthy and delicious. We ordered an appetizer of Kibbeh, which was soooooo good and I definitely recommend. Our entrees were huge--I had chicken kabobs and my boyfriend had the combo shawarma. The food was such great quality and so well seasoned. So much flavor.

This place had roaches in sugar caddys and over dinner floor. I complained about the issue and staff told me this is normal and all restaurants have roaches. Than I had a roach jump out under the plate of where I we had the humus and pita. Staff and management didn't do nothing. Place is a dump and it's so sad because the food is good or actually was good.

A delightful place with a nice atmosphere. I had that S shwarma and gyro combo and I enjoyed it a lot. It was my first time having schwarma. I also had the lentil soup which was comforting on that cold night. However, be sure to check the bill. They made a mistake on mine and I noticed they did for another diner as well. I will definitely go there again. I went there for a painting class and the ambience was perfect for it.

This could be a hidden gem in Pembroke Pines. For me it has been a hit and miss. More of a hit though. The staff are friendly and the decor is nice. The food is very good. The calamari is soft but not rubbery. I usually order the chicken kabobs with spinach and hummus. This is usually a can't miss item. I highly recommend you give it a shot.

This is one of my favorite hidden treasures. I found this place a few years ago and it left a very lasting impression on me. I recently visited when I moved back to the area, and they still haven't lost their fizz! Great food and entertainment. Love it!!

Food is always consistent. The corvina tonight was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the chicken kabob and it was also very good. There is also live entertainment every Friday night they have a beautiful belly dancer. Service was also good.

The toom is a must-eat if you like garlic -- it's simply sublime on pitas. I had the falafel appetizer and fattoush salad. My wife had the shaved pear salad and the chicken kabobs. All of it was delicious. This place definitely goes into our date night rotation. Also, there are plenty of vegetarian dishes, which isn't mentioned in any other reviews.

I always go for the filet kabob. Which is served with humus and rice. The humus is delicious. The meat is tender and the is okay.

Called and the person who answered the phone was not the brightest of the bunch. Ordered lamb chops for take out when I look in the container the lamb was 3 little pieces mostly bone. 3 potatoes and not even a handful of spinach. The restaurant was completely empty and I can see why. Not the best customer service especially when answering the phone overall I would not go back to this place and I'm not sure how they will even continue doing business.

My favorite Greek restaurant! I go here for lunch at least once a week. They have great service and great food. The place is adorable and located in a Publix shopping plaza. They give you a free appetizer of pita bread and garlic/butter dip. Not actually sure the ingredients but it is delicious. My favorite dish I always order is the Chicken Kabob Platter. It comes with nice sized chunks of juicy and flavorful chicken, grilled veggies (green pepper, onion, tomato), basmati rice, and hummus. The price is only $8! Great deal! My friend ordered the Shrimp Kabob Platter and loved it as well. Highly recommend for great flavor and great prices!

  • Marci F.

The food is all fresh and they even hand roll the Grape leaves. You can easily identify flavors and the lamb is super fresh. Only ordered apps this time and they passed the test. Only complaint is the Greek salad was way too salty and the hummus heavy on the garlic but great. Will definitely be back.

    (4)
  • Jane S.

The food was cold, disgusting, not authentic, not seasoned, and overpriced! I paid $30 my meal and it was a small meal and I could not finish it because it did not taste good at all. I do not recommend at all!

  • Beth B.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and we really enjoyed it! The food was good and the service was good as well! The belly dancing show was fun! We had the Mazza sampler and everything was delicious (grape leaves, falafel, hummus and baba ghanoush). The grape leaves were served hot but still good! We also had the chicken kabob which was delicious as well as the rice served with it.

This was my first time eating Mediterranean Cuisine. I am usually a picky or plain eater that stays in the safe zone but this was amazing! I cannot remember the items that we have but all were delicious. The owner was there and stopped by the table and he made me love the food anymore! He has so much passion for excellence and when he talked about the food he lit up. He truly cares about the food and the experience of the guest. It was a great meal before a Friday night in Miami!

  • Elyse B.

This WAS one that was on our top of our list but after last night it lost points. Our waiter could not understand us (we spoke English) and had to repeat our order many times. Eggplant appetizer consisted mostly of "water" with four tiny pieces of eggplant and we had to wait about ten minutes before the other appetizers came out. Dinner was Luke warm as well. Told the waiter we had a birthday and had to wait 20 minutes for dessert and although we ordered a creme brûlée it did not come with a candle and it was only an after thought that the waiter remembered we had a birthday and brought a brownie with a candle. And to make matters worse, at 730pm they were already out of their Halloumi appetizer. Seems to me they never had it that day. Huge disappointment for a place that we used to enjoy. Sorry.a

Wow! I can't believe how many ppl have something bad to say about Mazza. I have been eating here since it opened years ago and have never been disappointed. The service is good, you get your food quickly and everything is delicious! It's also very reasonably priced. The owner is a nice guy and always polite, friendly and asks how the food is when I am in there ( guess he realizes I'm a regular) . I highly recommend eating at Mazza!

Service was a lot better than expected after reading some of the negative reviews here. The grilled octopus was great, as well as a Lebanese beer suggested by the waiter. Will be back to try some more dishes.

As Lebanese myself I am always picky when it comes to picking good Lebanese food. Maza is amazing! I recommend trying the shawarma platter with labneh and tabouleh. Great atmosphere and food, !

The food is delicious, the atmosphere at the restaurant is very inviting, and the service was exceptional! Bravo! I give this restaurant 5 stars and I would give it more if yelp allowed it! If you are looking for a great Mediterranean restaurant, Mazza is the place for you. :)

I love coming to this restaurant on The weekends. I always gets the kibbeh from the appetizer menu. Then I get the chicken or steak Dinner meal with rice and hummus. I ordered the brownie dessert and it was delicious ! I like to come here also because ifs not loud inside and it's nice and clean.

Used to be one of our go to restaurants but the quality is diminishing. Came back for a to go order after months of not visiting. Chicken had no seasoning and was extremely bland. Spinach was wilted. Pita was hard as a rock. Most likely will not return.

  • Lily D.

I have been going to this place for years and the food has always been wonderful, until the end of last year. This was my favorite Greek restaurant. We went back a couple of times and the food was disgusting, poorly prepared and very rude service. We will never go here again. NEVER get take out, they put whatever they want in the box, stale cold and they forget to put any sauces you may have asked for. Like I have said before the quality and service of this restaurant has gone down the drain.

  • Nancy A.

This is a nice lunch spot. Services is a bit spoty but they are rather fast in the cooking, well if you call carving cooking. I liked that my plate included hummus and rice with the meat and that pita was free. Would probably be back for lunch again.

  • Gloria A.

First time at this restaurant and I was a little apprehensive. I'm not big on veggies such as eggplant, but a friend suggested it and I was game. Glad I did. The appetizer was delicious. It was a fried, almond shaped and filled with beef and lamb (can't remember the name) it had a little spice and came with a great suave and lemon. I ordered the salmon with safron sauce, basmati rice and lemon potatoes. Everything was perfect! For desert with tried the belly dancer espresso brownie (too small to share but had 3 scoops of ice cream) very flavorful.

Service was slow but friendly as mentioned by other reviewers. However, I really did enjoy most of the food we tried! Starting with the appetizers, the 'Mazza Sampler' that included a sampling of Hummus, Baba Ghanuj, Falafel and Grape leaves was good (though I'm not a fan of Grape Leaves) and in particular the Baba Ghanuj was awesome, Hummas was good and Falafel is well, an acquired taste. If you never ate Middle Eastern food before, this mixed appetizer will be a good place to start along with our 2nd appetizer: The 'Shawarma Trio'. I highly recommend the 'Shawarma Trio' for meat lovers. Next time, I personally plan to order this appetizer just for me as my main dish. It includes Chicken Shawarma, Beef Shawarma, and Greek Gyro meat. Just Yummy =) For the main entrees, we tried the 'Fresh Fish of the day' which was a whole red snapper and it was... Oh So Delicious!!!!!! It was full of flavor and seasoned to perfection! Give it a try if you love fish. The cost of the snapper was a very well spent $24 dollars. We also ordered the 'Mousaka',but this turned out to be my least favorite dish of the night. Now for the Desserts!....Wow, the desserts did not disappoint one bit! We tried 3 different kinds of desserts and was very pleased with each of them starting with: the 'Bellydancer Brownie' (tasted like pure bliss), the 'Baklava' (loved it) and the 'Pistachio Creme Brulee' (pretty nice) but I do rather original Creme Brulee. Overall, pleasant adventure for my taste buds!!!

Service was friendly, but very slow. The hummus and chicken kabob my husband had were delicious. However, the beef shawarma was nothing like anything I've had at any mediterranean restaurant before- it was bizarrely Cuban-tasting, and not what I was looking for. I'll try the place again, but I'll definitely order a different entree next time.

It's hard to believe that this place has such amazing food for it's random location! I shared the Mazza sampler with friends and we had some William Hill wine (infused with olives... fantastic!) overall really great Mediterranean dining for a decent price. And the belly dancers are fun to watch (and awkwardly avoid as they come closer to your table) while you wait for your food.

Went to dinner today and I was horrified. All the waiters including the hostess were on the phones constantly. At the same time they would deliver the plates to the tables after touching all those surfaces. When preparing the pita bread that they serve while you await the food..all of them did it with their bare hands...no gloves! These same people were then cleaning tables after other guests were leaving, touching cleaning cloths, dirty plates, utensils, and then touching the pita bread with their hands and serving it to clients. If that wasn't bad enough, the hummus had an eyelash in it. Very disgusted with the way the food was handled and the unprofessionalism.

Monday night dinner. Bad service with only 5 parties. First, the waiter barks at us to come inside while we wait politely at the entrance for a hostess or waiter, like any other sit down restaurant does. The waiter walks to our table and places the menus down and walks away. He asks us what we would like to drink, does not try to sell us on any wine or beer. We both order water. At this point all of this has already set the expectation for the food, but we've been wanting to eat here for sometime, so we stay. The menu options are disappointing and the design of the menu does not make it any better. We get our food, which came out surprisingly fast, not always a good thing. The waiter doesn't ask if we need anything (i.e. extra napkins, salt or pepper which was not on the table). The food was alright. It did not taste bad, but it wasn't great. The waiter does not check in once during our meal. If you want a Mediterranean restaurant with the feel of a cafeteria, then you've found Mazza.

This was the second time coming back from a week ago. Inviting our daughter to come along, our wait time at the lobby was not acceptable since 4 tables were available. After a stern warning that I will walked out after our fifteen minutes wait, we were finally seated. Then another round of waiting for our food to the point that when food finally arrived, I told waiter, I was close to walking out. He apologized saying that a private party was going on and the grilled was apparently taken over by them! Even though the food came in satisfactory, I knew in my heart this will be my last.

We have been there 3 or 4 times before but not for several months. We now know for sure there is no reason to ever go back. First my wife cuts her hand on the chair. It is bleeding badly and they offer no assistance at all. There was no manager, just the 2 clueless young hostesses that eventually located a tiny bandaid. That aside the service is terrible. The food was insulting. There is no way the rice had been cooked that day. It tasted days old. The rest was fair to bad and the portions continue to shrink. Don't waste your time or money

The food is great! Well served portions and fresh. On the other hand, the service is quite slow, there was only one person to seat, take orders and serve the drinks!

Food was ok, the Mazza sampler was good liked the falafel and grape leaves. However check you kids chicken strip ours came raw. My wife had the pear salad and enjoyed it. I had kabob and found it to be Ok in comparison to the many Mediterranean rester ants I have been to.

In a strip shopping center but it was excellent. The decor is really nice, like you're walking into a foreign country. They have blinds down so you don't see the parking lot and sheer drapes to give the illusion of privacy by the booths in the main room. It was a party of 4. We got drinks, beer for the guys and wine for the gals, 2 appetizers and main courses. The bill was $169 I think, tip not included so about $100 a couple. I had the sea bass on special, very nice. The other husband had a rib eye steak. He liked it but said he would have gotten something else if he realized it was $25. Main course came with a nicely seasoned rice and spinach that was actually good. Not an every day place for me because of the price but I'd go again

After passing by this restaurant for about 3 years already, i finally decided to check it out. I was greatly impressed at the quickness of getting a table, sitting down and getting my food at a decent time. First off, the dip that is served in the beginning w/the pita's are out of this world. Just the right amount of garlic and herbs mixed in to create an assortment of flavors. I then proceeded to order my now favorite dish off the menu, Beef Shawarma. OMG, sooo good. Skirt steak was perfectly tender, the spices were great and the hummus is one of the best so far. It's also a nice, trendy place to go on a date, or with your family. My daughter thoroughly enjoys the belly dancing on friday nights, so we try to go then. I'm definitely glad there's a good, solid, Greek restaurant that's local enough that i don't have to leave my area for.

Hummus, shawarma, and falafel are great. Howver, the service not even close. They are very slow and forgetful. If you go, make sure you go when you are not in a hurry.

One of the most consistently good restaurants in Pines. Best hummus I've had. Chicken kabob is always tasty and I don't find it expensive. Its like 13.50 for a meal... can't really beat that. The only draw back to me is that the staff is really young and there is somewhat unprofessional vibe. Other than that, I will keep coming back.

We are FOODIES and we come here often. The food is always delicious and the service is top notch! The newly introduced baklava ice cream dessert is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! We just attended a four course wine dinner and the pairings were delicious. Outstanding wines!!! Pita and hummus is always great....best hummus ever! Kabobs are always great. Fish is always excellent. We will definately continue to frequent Mazza!!!

This is the third time here and it never disappoints. The service although a little slow; was very nice. The great atmosphere made the little longer than I want wait unnoticeable. My wife enjoyed her lentil soup with a great salad and I the filet kabob which was a big chance for me where I always eat their lamb chops which I love here. Any negative review given to this establishment should be considered suspect.

While visiting friends in Miramar, we came to eat here. They come here quite often and rave about the food. We started off with the garlic dip and pitas which was amazing. We kept on asking for more and I had to stop myself as I was afraid I would be full for my main course. We ordered a pitcher (or 4) of sangria which was very tasty, and some apps. We got the drunken halloumi and a mozzerella/bruschetta type dish. The drunken halloumi was delicious, the other just ok. For my main dish, I ordered the Grilled Salmon. I just wasn't that impressed. I was debating between the creamy parmesean pasta, the salmon and the skirt steak and I definetly went with the wrong choice. The rice was good, though. The next day I tried left overs of my two friends who had each ordered the two other dishes I was debating and they were both wonderful. Could've just been a bad night for the salmon? The belly dancer was a great touch, though. The music was a little loud, but it really put you in the mood to experience the mediterranean culture!

Mazza was great, I had the skirt steak and it was delicious. The appetizers were great also and what about that garlic dip with pita bread? Amazing. Wine bottle prices are reasonable and so are the meals. Service was very good also. I would recommend this restaurant for dinner (haven't been for lunch).

Great place with great food. Number one item is dessert: Ashta, Phyllo dough with a delicious cream filling. Very simple and amazing. Hummus is good but the baba ganoush (did I spell that right?) is Smokey and delicious. We've had the scallops and kabobs which are very tasty but sometimes overcooked. As all places in Pembroke Pines, they have a kids menu. Standard items like nuggets and mac and cheese. And although its not the reason why we went there and I sometimes can't convince my daughter to get something other than mac and cheese, disappointed to see what looked like the kraft box version brought to the table. Doesn't take a lot of effort to make a simple mac and cheese, in my opinion.

  • Jonatan G.

I would give this restaurant three stars but the ashta is magical I didn't see any reviews mention it but its one of the best desserts I've ever had.

Never! I have never felt so discriminated in my life. The owner has no idea on how treating his customer. How sad!! Never AGAIN!! Owner helping us and he has the face to invite my coworker to an Arabic concert they were having at this restaurant and totally ignored me like I wasnt on the table. NO MANNERS. Get ready.. I will make sure you are not getting any business until to learn how to treat people with respect. Imagine if the owner is this bad.. what about the rest! - NEVER!

Even though the service has always been terrible, the delicious food always kept me coming back. After today, that has changed. To start, what was once a creamy delight of a garlic dip has turned into the equivalent of eating a whole head of raw garlic. When we asked if we could get another batch the waiter admitted that this batch was not so good and he would try to get us a better one. That never happened. Then after waiting way too long our beef shawarma was delivered (because of course they didn't have my first choice which was lamb kebob.) We've had the beef shawarma numerous times but today it was like it came from a whole other restaurant. Firstly, the plate was half full, less food than what we get during lunch which is when we usually come. The basmati rice which should be a no brainier was bland (even with the garlic residue still overtaking my palette) and the hummus was a light streak on the plate almost as an afterthought. The beef shawarma? Acidic and forgettable. Not even the enthusiastic belly dancer could save this Epic fail of a dinner. I'll stop here... Having some Coldstone to bring my taste buds back to life. I will never return to Mazza ever again.

I feel bad giving only three stars because I actually had a great dinner - but it had nothing to do with the restaurant. I had a huge group, so we tried all the appetizers. I'd recommend the hummus, baba ghanuj, and the cheese dip thing. As far as the food goes, I got the lamb kabob. So much lamb and quite good. Comes with hummus and rice. Had sangria with dinner. So why three stars? The service was not good. Very slow and the restaurant was basically empty! I don't even think they ever even asked if we wanted more drinks (which we did, but then decided against it once our server came back). Service - the definite downside of the restaurant Environment - mostly boring.

Food is delish! Love the kabobs (all of them)! Pita bread with the garlic spread is complimentary, but don't eat too much or you won't be able to enjoy the menu!

  • Esther B.

It's hard to believe that I have never reviewed this hidden gem, considering the many times I've been here. The garlic spread that they bring to the table, with pita is fantastic. The kabobs and schwarma are all excellent. I cannot rave enough about the tenderness and flavor of the lamb. We had the combo plate with the chicken, and wished that we had chosen all lamb. Salads are all great, but my favorite two are the butternut and the calamari. I can honestly say that every dish here is a pleasant surprise. Deciding what to order is always difficult, since it's all so good. I can go on about so many items. I didn't mention the rice...great rice! The only item that has ever dissapointed is their creme burlee, which is not really bad, but you should not expect creme burlee. It's more of a thick, heavy custard. Can't remember the name of the dessert right now, but it's a light pistachio cream wrapped in a phillo pastry...that's the one you'll want to try!

First time coming to Mazza. Menu is rich in variety and flavors. While we settled on lentil soup, Dip Trio, and a bottle of Pinot Noir, my date and I found at least 4 other dishes we'd like to try on another visit. Here are the definite pros to this place: - Warm and comfortable atmosphere that's quiet but also very casual - Friendly staff who aren't afraid to assist tables that aren't necessarily their own - Delicious and authentic mediterranean cuisine (I'm from LA where I've had my experience with this culture. This place gets 5 stars for the dishes) - The price...Two people shared the bowl of soup, the appetizer dips, and a bottle of wine for $30. - The owner, Faris, was very hospitable and inviting. Here are the points that would have earned the extra star this visit - If the bottle of wine didn't take 10 minutes to get to the table - If the waitress allowed us less interruptions to clear our plates We will be back to try more dishes and hopefully give that extra star.

On a mission to try all my local restaurants! Mazza was ok if you want something different but not a place I would come frequently. Good falafel and hummus, gyro an chicken too dry.

Came here to try their Spanakopita, I must say it was very disappointing as it was smaller then expected and tasted just like an spinach empanada. It was overpriced and looks like it was sitting in the kitchen for more than 20 minutes, it was flat and cold.

  • Cynthia F.

Very nice restaurant, good for lunch, prices and portions are reasonable...the service was excellent but the food not too impressive and in my opinion the most important part of a restaurant is great food...I was disappointed of the Greek salad one of my favorites but Mazza has to work on the dressing (pure olive oil?) ...also the grape leaves need some improvement, too small and bit dry...overall OK food.

Unfortunately, my family and I will NEVER return to this restaurant. We just came back from this place, and I have to say we were very disappointed. Let me begin by saying that we used to frequent Mazza on a regular basis, however after today, this won't be happening. My advice to the owner is to NOT let his/her young (all under the age of 21) waiters run their restaurant. Albeit they were very sweet, they had absolutely no idea what they were doing nor what they were serving. I understand they are young, but I do except some level of understanding of the food that is being served. The place was full of small flies and there were various tabletops that had not been cleaned. We began with the Kibbe which was good, but nothing out of this world. We then ordered the main course that consisted of a "steak" salad and the gyro platter. To my surprise, when our meal arrived, my gyro was cold and my guest's steak was TINY, TINY, TINY (smaller than fajita steak) and also cold. We asked that our meal be warmed up and our waitress was happy to do so. My guest gave our waitress her plate with a butter knife in it (under the lettuce) and when our food returned, the butter knife was still in there! I take it the chef was not at all paying attention to detail. At this point, new steak should have been on the salad. Not the same damn steak that you reheated and is now leather. Much to my dismay, my gyro meat and guest's steak was still cold. Did I not mention that you pay around $13 for this steak salad and we literally counted FIVE pieces of TINY, TINY, TINY steak? Pathetic. Either way, it is not at all the wait staff's fault as they are young kids working to make a buck. We asked to speak with manager and our waitress said he is not here today. Brilliant. During dinner, your peak hour, the owner/manager/shift manager, should always be on duty. You had a party of 20+ in the private room, and there was no manager around. Maybe this was one night you decided to take off? Maybe you are comfortable with teenagers/youngsters not old enough to drink run your business? If so, that does not make for a smart business person and therefore, you have lost a few customers. In an economy where restaurants literally have a short lifetime, I suggest you make some changes and appreciate those who decide to spend their money at your establishment.

Food & service was excellent. Waitress was one of the best Ive ever had and I am very picky about waitresses. Owner (Faris Bushnaq) introduced himself and came back a few times to make sure our food & service were up to his standards. Food: I ordered Kabob Combo (filet mignon & lamb) was amazing. Whatever their marinade was you gotta try it. Wife ordered moussaka and it was very good (bit heavy on the potatoes). However the HUMMUS was the best she ever had. Only con was we left before the belly dancers arrived (Fri & Sat 8-9pm). Wish we knew that beforehand then we would have eaten dinner a little later. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND & WILL RETURN AGAIN VERY SOON

Kinda sketchy that I wasn't greeted when I walked in, was told "NO" when I asked if they were still serving lunch & another girl walked in & conveniently ordered lunch 15 mins later. Maybe I needed to "look" a certain way to get the lunch menu & be greeted. TIP: lunch is served until 4p. Besides that, the food is ok. Falafels are a bit salty. I've had better. As a matter of fact, I went to Pasha's today to satisfy my Mediterranian craving since Mazza's didn't do the job.

Some of the appetizers were very good and some quite average. My grilled chicken was also average. However the dessert of an almond basket with pistaccio ice cream was delicious. Extremely noise and overall way too expensive for the quality of the food. I have had much better middle eastern food. Service was very good.

Awesome food. Crap service. Hostess answered phone with "hello". I thought I called the wrong number. Idiot waitresses. Had to beg for drink refills and to pay. The staff is all teens. No experience and apparently no brains either. If the service was better they would be five stars. Smokin hot belly dancer. Omg. Perfect 10.

Made a reservation for Saturday night, confirmed that a belly dancer would be performing at 8pm. (belly dancer no showed just like several years ago for my birthday dinner). They also didnt have my reservation. Food took forever to be served. Nice waiter though. Not enough food. Wont be going back again.

We love this restaurant so much! We just celebrated our mother's birthday at Mazza. They accommodated over 50 people and the service was excellent. They provided us with family style dishes to make it quick and simple for all our guests. The food was delicious...as always!!!

My bf and I have been meaning to give this place a try. We stopped by for lunch and had the restaurant pretty much to ourselves. I was pleasantly surprised by the various menu options (both Greek and Lebanese). The food was delicious! We had the grilled octopus as an appetizer, house salad, and I had the chicken shish tawook skewer and my bf had the beef shawarma. They both came with hummus and rice (which I sub with spinach). Overall, the food was good but the service was just OK. Maybe better at night. But I am sure we will be back here again. We do love our Mediterranean food :)

Had dinner here last Friday night before we went to the movies. One word: LOUD. Don't get me wrong, I like music and belly dancers, but it was so loud we couldn't even hear our waitress. The menu has been simplified since the last time we ate here. The bottle of Greek red wine we wanted, they didn't have. The bruscetta with buffalo mozzarella was delicious. My husband ordered the salmon for dinner and I the meat. I wasn't happy with my meal because I didn't expect my steak to be minced into small pieces. We ordered the apple tart with ice cream for dessert and that was very good. Service was lacking in that after drinking my water, I then had my husband's and had to flag her down for more water. We were glad when the belly dancing was over so we could begin to talk to each other, but the waitress brought us the check. I was annoyed that we were being hurried and we hadn't finished the bottle of wine we ordered. Then while we were in a conversation, the hostess came over with a sales pitch about an event they were having and wanted people to "sign up"..... Really? I think this will be the last time we eat here. My Big Fat Greek on Griffin in Dania has better food, outstanding servers (who have been there forever) and their belly dancer and music is appropriate for the restaurant..

Best Mediterranean food I've had in Miami hands down. Delicious and fresh every time I've come. The bad part? They seem to hire kids who are goofing off even on slow days. It's happened multiple times and while I can't say it's all of them (I've been helped by a waitress who wasn't ours more than once when our waiter went missing), it gives a bad reputation to the place. I've seen the manager (owner?) walking around but he doesn't seem to notice. Other folks here seem to have the same issue.

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I have been visiting this place since it first opened in August 2007; it is a pleasure to eat here and the food is simply delicious. We love the stuffed grape leaves, the hummus and the beef shawarma they serve... the food is very tasty and the service is generally flawless... The owner usually stops by each table to say hi and is genuinely concerned about what the customers think... LOVE IT!

Try this restaurant!!! The food is EXCELLENT!! Fairs the owner makes rounds and checks in with every customer. Yes the service staff is young......and very friendly and get the job done. I can't rave enough about this place! It's the jewel of pembroke pines!!!

I have been going to this restaurant for lunch once per month for the last 4 years. It was good until about a year ago. The gyro meat does not taste like meat anymore, and the lamb and the shrimp are not fresh. My only option now is the falafel so I don't think I will be going anymore.

Kudos to Mazza for diversifying the west Broward County dining scene. Grilling enthusiasts, go straight for the mixed grill of lamb, kofta and chicken shish taouk, and don't let the price tag deter you. This is a huge plate with exquisitely grilled meat. They have a real knack for keeping the meat juicy while singing it just right. Similarly, the lamb here was really nicely done, juicy with that slightly crispy finish. We adored their lentil soup. Granted, it was a slightly stingy portion for a "bowl," but damn, that was one of our favorite lentil soups sthe lentil lovers at our table had ever had. For the Lebanese appetizers, we had a mixed experience. Kibbeh was really nice and tender, but the hummus was a total disaster, being too dried out and having that sitting-out-too-long-or-reheated taste. On the other hand, we really enjoyed the uber-tender gyro meat here. A round of hummus was a good item to get for the sake of slathering it on almost anything else you order. It's hard to hate hummus on almost anything salty, really. For dessert, the thing is the ashta, a phyllo dough pastry with a creamy filling and topped with orange blossom syrup, rose water and pistachios. It was puffy, delicious and had us in love. Baklava was solidly enjoyable though didn't necessarily rock our socks. Same for the pistachio creme brulee. Our server was a newbie, but she was courteous and prompt, so no complaints there. Overall, we had a nice time, and we'd be back, specifically for the grill.

My friends told me about this place when I had told them I as looking for something different and fun for my girlfriend and I. The restaurant wasn't too hard to find. We called ahead and the hostess was kind enough to give s directions. Our waitress, Devyn, was very friendly; she made us feel welcomed. She brought us pita bread right away and explained the menu. The belly dancer was awesome! Food was delicious. Definitely coming back!

Nice place for dinner, great family restaurant, Saturday nights they have a live belly dancer every hour or so. I made reservations online, so we didn't have to wait. The humus was with pita bread was very good. I ordered the Kafta Kabob, Ground lean beef and lamb and it was delicious and great portion, the after dinner coffee was very strong and an acquired taste, i wouldn't order that again, but i enjoyed the dessert, Assorted Baklava.

I am always up for trying a new Persian or Mediterranean place, even though this was rather out of the way from my area. I made a reservation on Open Table just before leaving the house, since it is a 45 minute drive. When we got there, there were quite a few people waiting, but we were seated right away since we had a reservation. Our waitress came up right away for our drink order and brought us some pita. This is a regular store-bought type of pita, but they dress it up with a garlic spread. We started with an order of the tabbouleh (a salad of parsley, bulgar wheat, and tomatoes soaked in olive oil and lemon juice), and I got the chicken kabobs, while my dad got the mahi-mahi kabobs. The tabbouleh was fantastic - this one had onions in it, which I usually dislike, but they didn't overwhelm the rest of the dish. The menu says it's in a pomegranate molasses vinaigrette, but we couldn't taste it. A different server brought out our meals, and placed them on the table without asking who ordered what. Our fish and chicken kabobs looked identical, but we soon realized they had switched them on us. Both kabob dishes came with a serving of basmati rice and hummus. My dad thoroughly enjoyed his mahi-mahi, while my chicken was just okay. The rice was delicious, and the hummus was too salty for my liking. Our waitress pulled a disappearing act on us around the time our food came out, so I ended up having to ask the owner of the restaurant for a refill on my water. We had to ask a busboy for to-go boxes, and after waiting 20 minutes for our check, we finally resorted to flagging down a different waitress. The two tables next to us had to do the same thing - our waitress just couldn't be bothered with us, even though we had all tried to get her to come to our area. This left a bad taste in our mouths after what was otherwise a pleasant evening. None of the other tables with different waiters or waitresses seemed to have a problem like her tables did.

My Graduation Party I had planned my graduation party here from Chicago. Reaching this place was a nightmare, no returned calls, no response to emails, no response to open reservations. I didn't know how to get their attention. However, once I had gotten through and planned the event, it was fantastic, especially the dancer was marvelous, everyone loved her personality. The food also was absolutely delicious, we were about 20 and everyone raved over the food. The service was good but definitely needs improvement. I would've given 5 stars save the poor communications and the not good enough service. Regardless I was generous because it was a big day of my life.

I love this place...truly the best Mediterranean food in Broward! My husband and I have been here several times. They start you off with pita and a buttery garlic spread-yum!! I usually get the Tabouleh salad which is always fresh and has just enough of everything. My usual is the Gyro platter which comes with aromatic basmati rice and amazing hummus....after all the Hummus is what got us coming here-we tried it at an event back when they first opened, and we were hooked! For dessert you must have a dessert that is made to order (I forgot it's name), it is made with flaky phyllo dough and has a warm vanilla pudding/cream inside...topped with honey and crushed pistachios!! The service is always great even when it's busy! The owner almost always comes by to say hello and to make sure everything was great. We've been there during the Belly Dancer show as well and that makes for a fun night out! All in all...great food, great service...we'll definitely be back!

A definite must go!! I really love this place. I was there on a Saturday night with a date and found it to be surprisingly delightful. When we arrived it was pretty busy and was told there would be a short wait, which was to be expected. We were greeted by a big smile from the manager who made us feel at home. She offered us a glass of wine while we had our short wait and we took the opportunity to show my date the enticing menu. We were seated soon after and placed our order the appetizers were delicious and our sever was very attentive. She made great suggestions which my date found the suggestions to be on point. Food came out quickly and the portions were more than enough. It had been a few months since the last time is was there but there seemed to be some changes to the restaurant that gave it nice ambience. The staff seemed happy to be there were very willing to help. Our server also mentioned a Frequent Lunch card which I will be taking definite advantage of since I do frequent this area. This is a place I will definitely return to and tell all my friends!!

While I am not big on mediterranean cuisine, I must say Mazza is the exception. The best calamari I have tasted ever. The food is always fresh, the staff is friendly, and a truly fun envirinment! Love it!!!

The food here was very good, but the place is lacking in service. We waited 15 minutes for our sangria, and then when they appitzers were brought to the table we did not have plates. And there were no serving utensils with the appetizers so we had to wait for them, and finally, when they brought them to us they were these large plastic spoons. Very strange! Finally, about every 20-30 minutes they play loud music and have a belly dancer come out. The music was way too loud and it made it hard to enjoy the evening with friends.

We have been there before and I usually enjoy it. The place itself is a nice restaurant, in a strip mall area in Pembroke PInes. The service is good, but this time the food was a little off. Hubby ordered the fallafel pita, and it was really good, with a side of hummus. I ordered the chicken shwarma cesar and it was not good at all. The chicken was ok, but the salad was not edible. It was in a wierd dressing and it was soaked and there were these stale pita croutons that were not good. I was suprised because this is one of my favorite places. I have had a shrimp dish with rice there that was yummy. I didn't have the energy to ask for anything else but I was disappointed. The price was decent, but what good is it if you don't enjoy the food. I think I ordered the wrong thing and will stick with other dishes. I'll still go back.....

This place has potential but is far from greatness. The things I liked are: 1. Service was cheerful, friendly and quick. 2. The belly dancer was talented. 3. The lemon potatoes were delish as was the baba ganoush. Things that were lackluster or slightly disappointing. 1. They were out of the wine I ordered (only one glass left). 2. Drunken Halloumi - the cheese was chemically tasting, not like ouzo but dry and soapy. 3. The Fatoush salad wasn't as good as the one I make at home. 4. The fish was served with the head on and that's just not that easy for me to look at.

Would NOT recommend this place! The shwarma had a horrible aftertaste. The service took over an hour for food that could be made in 20 minutes. I usually don't write bad reviews but I felt obligated to warn people about my experience here.

Came here for a Friday lunch with co-workers and it left much to be desired. Nice ambiance and decorations, music, etc. Service was lacking. Server forgot our appetizer... greek salad was brought out first, then had to be reminded and said "it's on it's way"... it was some sort of cheese dip that didn't need 20 minutes of prep time. Someone else ordered kibbeh, but they were out (it was noon on a Friday - really people?!) Ordered Greek Gyro with side of basmati rice. Rice was good, gyro was nothing out of this world. Luckily, they have a lunch menu with good prices - but I would've been mad had I gotten this service and paid the dinner prices ($20+ /dish) And don't be fooled- this is in Pembroke Pines - not Hollywood.

Very good food and perfect serving sizes. Went for a romantic dinner for 2 with the boyf :) no complaints! Also, the trio hummus appetizer was amazing!
